In 2019, La'Toya Princess Jackson presented her thesis "Black Swans Shattering The Glass Ceiling: A Historical Perspective of the Evolution of Black Ballet Companies- From Katherine Dunham to Arthur Mitchell" which is now available in the Harvard libraries and on Pro Quest. Since publishing her work, her thesis has been cited in several scholarly articles and she has presented her research for organizations like Memoirs of Blacks in Ballet (MOBBallet) and the Boston Ballet. She has since developed this historical perspective into a narrative ballet performance piece for LaPrincess Ballet Co. and created a digital archive paying tribute to the Black Swans of Ballet. This is the basis on which the Black Swans En Pointe Society was created!
"Black Swans Shattering the Glass Ceiling is reframing how history is presented, understanding that the past and present are in conversation with one another."
